A TDMA/TDD MAC protocol for Internet access is proposed on the basis of wireless packet fair queueing (PFQ). First, the issues of wireless packet fair queueing are addressed. To resolve these issues, a new wireless PFQ scheme is proposed. Second, the basic TDMA/TDD MAC protocol for the wireless Internet access network is presented. By incorporating the new PFQ scheme into the MAC protocol, the fairness of medium access is achieved, the QoS of Internet services is guaranteed, and TDD management is implicitly implemented
