This study describes microstrip resonators with step and triangular discretization which are a modification of the rectangular resonator. The study consists of analysis of a structure with two dielectric substrates and a rectangular patch which is varied in the number of steps in its width. This microstrip resonator is analyzed using the full wave efficient and concise transverse transmission line (TTL) method in the Fourier transformed domain (FTD) (Farias and Fernandes, 1997; Fernandes et al, 1998), in conjunction with the moment method. This study brings a singular contribution for microstrip resonators with new geometric forms, their respective peculiarities and analysis, through a full wave method. The results are good in comparison with other resonator results (Agrawal and Bhat, 1984; Fernandes et al, 1998; Silva and Fernandes, 2000)
