A large-scale theoretical and computational method for dynamic air bearing simulation of realistic magnetic head sliders, allowing contact between slider and disk, is presented. This model is coupled with the six degrees of freedom slider/disk contact/impact theoretical and computational model developed by V. Ponnaganti et al. (1987). Numerical results for several head/disk interactions are presented
