The authors present results from magnetic resonance imaging experiments using superconducting thick film YBa2Cu3 O7-δ (YBCO) receive coils. The coils' properties and image qualities are compared with identical copper and silver It was found that the SNR (at 77 K) and image quality obtained using the YBCO coil is significantly increased relative to metal coils of identical geometry at 77 K
