The paper mainly discusses the scheme of the HDTV decoder system control unit. The author firstly introduces two principles of video buffer management, then presents a new method to reconstruct the picture sequence in the HDTV decoder display buffer. The new method is based on the picture type difference. The method is successfully used in an HDTV decoder system
