A technique combining photonic and microwave technologies is proposed for phased-array beam steering. Performance results of a prototype implementation are given. The approach, based on a differential delay line network, significantly reduces the complexity of the phase weighting mechanism and the Tx/Rx modules by performing signal conditioning and phase weighting in the central processor
