A new mobile antenna configuration (ELES) for mobile satellite applications is introduced. The operating bandwidth for an axial ratio of better than 3 dB for the antenna with a finite ground plane is greater than 20% in the satellite UMTS frequency band and this is achieved with a compact and easily manufacturable structure
