This paper presents the computational tool which has been developed to support decision-making process regarding load forecasting in the context of the electric distribution networks' planning. The tool comprises trending methods as well as a method based on clustering algorithms, in conjunction with a geographic information system (GIS). The paper also presents development progress of the methodology that uses fuzzy reasoning to produce spatial load forecasts. Fuzzy clustering algorithms have been used to identify and obtain a fuzzy model from a structure contained in data.
