Based on the positive and negative characteristics of the system output tracking error for the set-point input signal, the perturbations of the uncertain system with abrupt variation on a large scale within a working phase are divided into two classes. Each class can be stabilized robustly by an optimal robust tracking controller and the overall complex uncertain system can be controlled robustly on a large scale by the switching of the controllers. The idea and conclusion of the paper is verified by simulation results
