An efficient low-latency array architecture is presented for telescopic-search-based block-matching motion estimation. It consists of a novel ring-like systolic array and a comparing tree. The new architecture achieves higher processor utilisation, delivers a higher throughput rate, and requires minimal memory bandwidth
