By the use of a wide variety of satellite data from both optical and microwave sensors, a total of three previously unknown remains of the Egyptian dynastic period were discovered in the desert area of the west bank of the Nile. The remains were pinpointed by KVR-1000, JERS-1/SAR, and SIR-C respectively. In consequence of this study, it can be concluded that a comprehensive analysis using both optical and L-band SAR satellite data provides a highly efficient subsurface archaeological survey in the desert of Egypt
