An integrated system for code-division multiple access (CDMA) radio access to the asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) network is considered. The inherently high error rate associated with the Rayleigh fading channel is overcome by two-dimensional CRC codes for efficient ATM-CDMA interfacing. Simulations show promising error probability performance with low coding redundancy.
