A method is presented for calculating the optimum cut of piezoelectric material with small bulk acoustic wave (BAW) generation by interdigital transducers (IDTs). The theoretical results for Y-rotated cut X-propagation and Y-rotated cut X-90 degrees propagation LiNbO3 are given. A new cut of LiNbO3 has been found which has smaller BAW generation than Y-128 degrees X LiNbO3. The experimental results agree with the theoretical prediction.
