Conventional array beamforming techniques such as the minimum variance beamformer, require the estimation of the inverse of a signal free covariance matrix in order to obtain the array weights. This can sometimes lead to ill conditioned matrices. In this paper a new algorithm for array beamforming is presented. The proposed technique uses one or more of the eigenvectors of the array's signal plus interference covariance matrix
