The Reed-Solomon code and multidimensional TCM (MTCM) can be concatenated to improve the performance of discrete multitone (DMT) modulated digital subscriber line (DSL) systems. The criteria for designing an effective multidimensional TCM (MTCM) scheme with efficient interleaver are described.
