To match the progress of computer networks, small high-throughput wireless LAN systems are required. To achieve this we have developed trial equipment for a personalized high-speed wireless LAN system called JPLAN. JPLAN has small units and transmission speeds as high as 10BASE-T. A new radio link control method is developed that observes the radio propagation conditions between base and terminal stations and gives communication start permission to terminal stations. JPLAN makes it easy to create data communication systems that offer high mobility and high bit-rate transmission capacity
