In a multimedia CDMA wireless system, where various classes of users are characterized by different quality of service requirements and source rates, the capacity bound is derived. In a multi-cell environment, an approach is proposed to exploit the optimal policy of jointly assigning the power level and the base station to each user terminal. Non-uniform distributions of users can thus be accounted for in a straightforward way
