Both private and public networks increasingly use ATM to provide high bandwidth and guaranteed quality of service. The ability to use Linux in PC platforms and the ready availability of Linux source code make the PC-based Linux workstation an ideal platform for ATM multimedia development. This article describes some of Fujitsu's ATM tools for Linux and reports the results of prototyping using Fujitsu's ATM/Linux development environment
