We demonstrate a wavelength-to-time technique for control monitoring bits, data packets, and channel powers in a wavelength-division-multiplexed network. We recover the routing header bits across parallel wavelengths as well as determine the existence of data packets for switching purposes. We show results for a routing-bit monitor of multiple channels with a speed of 2.5 Gb/s and a packet/frame monitor for multiple channels with a speed of 100 MHz.
