This paper presents a new method of achieving stable adaptive control of non-affine nonlinear plants with artificial neural networks. The restrictions placed on the size of the operating region and the form of the system equations of the unknown plant are mild. The results obtained from the simulation of the adaptive control of an unknown and highly nonlinear plant using the proposed method is provided. A new control law for non-affine nonlinear plants is stated
