The performance of post-decoding interference cancellation (PDIC) receiver structures for code division multiple access (CDMA) systems with coding is analyzed and compared with that of the more traditional scheme where error correction is applied only after interference cancelation. A novel interleaving scheme that accommodates a large number of users and greatly improves the performance of PDIC structures is proposed. Computer simulation results are given for systems with deterministic and random sequences on both the fading and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels
