Charles E. Molnar was born 14 March 1935 in Newark, New Jersey, USA and died 13 December 1995 in Sunnyvale, California, USA. He was a codeveloper with Wesley A. Clark and William N. Papian of the Laboratory INstrument Computer (LINC) for laboratory use (a forerunner of the personal computer), was a pioneer in asynchronous circuit and system design, and identified nonlinear and active-system properties of the cochlea.
