A technique is introduced which uses the well known Generalized Pencil of Functions Method (GPOF) to determine hidden objects in the ground. Using the data of a ground penetrating FMCW radar system, it is possible to increase the range resolution significantly compared to standard signal processing methods like the Fourier transform
