A new approach to the problem of extracting radar target features and building up a huge database in conventional clustering is proposed. By processing the radar target signal in its binary form and converting it to a dot based image, the number of target (aircraft) are identified after clustering the image. The algorithm includes image segmentation in binary and modified ISODATA. Experimental results have verified the validity of this approach to conventional narrow-band radar echoes
