This letter proposes a novel photonic device configuration for multichannel wavelength selective switching. The device is based on the parallel coupled multimode interference Michelson interferometer Bragg grating principle. Mode propagation theory is used for the analysis of this device, SiO/sub 2/-Si is presently the most promising technology for realizing this kind of device.
