In this paper we describe the parallelisation of an existing FE code for modeling rotating machines. A geometric mesh partitioning approach is applied within the bulk synchronous programming (BSP) framework for the assembly and solution phases of the finite element computation. This is combined with a nongeometric, data driven parallel procedure for the evaluation of right hand side terms associated with the coils
