W. Dobosiewicz ; We introduce a FDDI-like protocol for ring networks which, in contrast to commercial FDDI, is suitable for transmission rates of the order of tens gigabits per second. The proposed solution exhibits zero access delay under light load, achieves practically the same maximum throughput irrespective of the ring length, naturally incorporates the concept of synchronous traffic, and is absolutely fair. ; P.
