Efficient room-temperature operation of a diode-pumped Tm:YAG laser is demonstrated in a composite-cavity non-planar ring resonator. By longitudinal pumping in continuous wave operation, a single-frequency output power up to 150 mW and a multimode power greater than 0.5 W are obtained for the Tm 3H5-3H6 quasi-three-level transition at 2.02 μm
