Biomedical diagnostics with elastic light scattering in cell suspensions and tissues

We review the principles and applications of elastically scattered light for noninvasive diagnostics and study of biological tissues and cells. The use of wavelengths from the ultraviolet to near-infrared as well as scattering effects of polarized light are discussed.
