A fast Holter ECG data compression method based on integer to integer wavelet transform is presented. Due to a shelter function being introduced and careful threshold choices in different scales being adopted, this method can achieve significant data reduction and high signal fidelity simultaneously. It can not only retain the QRS, P, T, ST segment, but also preserve the VLP's information, and can be used to develop a new generation Holter system
