An Approach To The Design Of Decoupled Systems In The Presence Of Large Parameter Variations

In this study we outline a design approach for decoupled control systems in the presence of large parameter variations. The decoupling problem is of practical interest in flight control problems, especially in the landing mode where it is desireable to independently control certain output variables, e.g., flight path angle, forward speed, etc. A common source of parameter variations in fliaht control Droblems is the result of linear ization about a n@mber of difierent operating points. It is assumed in this study that parameter variations may be represented by a discrete finite set of possible values, corresponding to different flight conditions and that the complete system state is not available.
