Multimedia simulation and visualization in scientific calculation (ViSC) has attracted more and more attention in power systems. The effect of training can be improved by use of the above two technologies. The characteristics of visualization in the analysis and calculation of dynamic processes in power system multimedia simulation and training systems are analyzed in this paper. A research method with regard to the characteristics are brought forward and the relevant functions realized in a multimedia simulation training system. It is shown that the combination of multimedia and visualization technologies used in multimedia simulation and training systems obtain satisfactory results
