The authors propose an enhanced location tracking algorithm for the mobile PNNI scheme in wireless ATM networks. The main contribution is the use of the dynamic reachability scope depending on the mobile endpoint's movement rate and terminating call rate without any modifications to the mobile PNNI scheme. As a result, the proposed algorithm can reduce the location management cost compared with the original mobile PNNI scheme having a fixed scope value
