We report the first results of SHG in short-period periodically-poled KTiOPO4 (KTP) for efficiently generating blue light using subpicosecond laser pulses. The uniqueness of our results lies in the combination of short-period periodically-poled KTP crystals and an ultrafast pump beam for efficient generation of blue light
