A method is proposed for the analysis of risks of fatal electric shocks associated with (sub)urban distribution MV/LV transformer stations due to earth faults. Models for calculating the probability and frequency of potentially dangerous faults and possible exposures of persons are suggested, the latter based upon data acquired by observation. Expressions for assessing the overall risk for a distribution network are suggested. A practical example is included which discusses some typical cases
