Considering the nonlinear model of active magnetic bearings, a new means of nonlinear control is presented which treats variables as rotating vectors in the control plane, specially the unbalance. It becomes easy to cancel out the effect of this perturbation in a rotating reference. Therefore, the rotor can rotate around any desired point, particularly the geometric center or the center of gravity. Simulations illustrate the efficacy of this control law
