Effect of dipolar interactions in magnetic thin films

In this work we study by extensive Monte Carlo (MC) simulations magnetic properties of very thin ferromagnetic films with Heisenberg spin model on a bcc lattice with [001] surfaces, taking into account dipolar interactions and surface anisotropy. A switching from perpendicular to in-plane ordering at a finite temperature is found. We also discuss some results on an antiferromagnetic film of frustrated stacked triangular lattices.
