This paper proposes an iterative reweighted least squares algorithm for constrained designs of FIR filters with arbitrary magnitude and phase responses. The filters are optimum according to a complex constrained least squares or a complex constrained Chebyshev criterion. It is possible to mix the design criteria and different criteria can be used in different frequency bands. The algorithm is computationally efficient and numerically robust. The memory requirement is low because no matrices have to be stored
