We present a novel approach for the next generation mobile telecommunication system called band division multiple access (BDMA) system. The system is based on a combination of SFH-TDMA (time division multiple access with slow frequency hopping) and OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplex). The described system is proposed to ETSI (European Telecommunication Standard Institute) as an air interface proposal for the next generation mobile communication system called UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System)
