Gas Discharge in Longitudinal and Transverse Magnetic Field

Investigations of the influence of external magnetic field on the shape and structure of the high-voltage gas discharge used for air flow ionization to an ionization degree of up to 10

are presented. In the first series of experiments, the discharge current flew along magnetic field lines; and in the second series, the discharge current was transverse to the magnetic field. The discharge shape and structure at different magnetic field intensities were obtained.
