Summary form only given. We report on an efficient Nd:LiYF/sub 4/ laser operated at 1053 nm that was end pumped by the fiber-coupled, 100-W quasi-cw diode laser. One SDL 3251-A1 quasi-cw 100-W diode laser was used in this experiment. The diode laser's 2.2-nm-wide output spectrum was centered at 805 nm.
