It is my pleasure to host this special mini-issue on ad hoc wireless networks for Journal of Communications and Networks (JCN). We have seen the evolution of cellular networks and observed the impact mobile phones had created on the way we work and live. Past research issues related to cellular networks include handoff, connection. and location management, GSM, D-AMPS, and CDPD arc clear examples of how these networks could support voice and data services seamlessly for mobile users.
