Climatic and load changes will cause changes in operation condition of each component of gas turbine such as; compressor, combustion chamber and turbine. Therefore, recognition of gas turbine behaviour in the off-design performance is very essential. Changes in efficiency and fuel consumption and the other thermodynamic characteristics of a Siemens V94.2 gas turbine in off-design conditions (especially in partial loads) considering the changes of turbine control method have been investigated. The results show that the IGV constant control system has the highest efficiency and the lowest fuel consumption in the simple gas cycle. The TIT constant control system in the combined cycle has the highest efficiency but the highest fuel consumption.
