This paper describes a design and implementation of an object-oriented naming service on real-time CORBA, which is suited for multimedia applications on distributed environment. Existing caching servers are not suited for real-time multimedia applications due to bandwidth and latency problems. Real-time multimedia applications require an application-level approach to solve the current caching problems and a mechanism to support QoS on the CORBA environment. This paper proposes a transparent CORBA naming service for CgR and RIOP on real-time CORBA which adapts RSVP to CORBA GIOP
