Recently, two fields associated with electricity power and energy management are receiving a lot of attention. The first field is smart-grid related research that is based on the convergence of power technology and IT technology. The second field is research on renewable energy, which is a solution for the ongoing energy crisis and depletion of natural energy resources. Based on these two fields, the type of future power supply is expected to be home or local level distributed power supply form. Various researches on locally distributed power supplies are underway. Also, homes or buildings with self-distributed power generation systems are growingly using renewable energy resources nowadays.In order to apply renewable energy to the existing power grid, it is important to provide a stable power supply. Accordingly, balancing power supply and power demand is highly significant. Therefore, it is necessary for distributed power supply using renewable energy to be able to predict demandside power usage. In order to predict demand-side power usage, we created the model of the usage pattern of home electronic appliances. The power usage priority of electronic appliances are set based on the modeling. Here we suggest an adaptive energy saving policy (AESP) using power usage priority of electronic appliances. Also, we developed and implemented a user centric flexible energy management system (UCFEMS) applying AESP.
