Reply to “Comments on ‘Principal Component Analysis of Single-Beam Echo-Sounder Signal Features for Seafloor Classification’” by J. M. Preston and B. R. Biffard

In the paper published in the IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 259-271, Apr. 2011, results of applying a feature-based classification technique to single-beam echo-sounder data were presented. Comments on this contribution were presented in a correspondence paper published in the IEEE, Journal of Oceanic Engineering, vol. 37, no. 4, pp. 764-765, Oct. 2012). In this reply, the items addressed in the comments are reflected upon.
