Some of the mistakes made in earlier ventures are discussed. These included undue attention to high-resolution graphics and reliance upon dedicated videotex terminals. New videotex ventures will seek to avoid these errors by striving for flexible technology emphasizing interactive services, exploiting the personal computer, and taking advantage of the small-business market. Descriptions are given of some of the new services that will soon be available.
