This paper presents a new secure communication scheme based on function projective lag synchronization (FPLS) in coupled hyper-chaotic Lorenz systems, in which the states of two chaotic systems asymptotically lag synchronized up to a desired scaling function. It is obvious that the unpredictability of the scaling function can additionally enhance the security of communication. Based on the active control scheme, a FPLS method of coupled hyper-chaotic Lorenz systems is proposed. A scheme for secure communication is investigated, furthermore. The corresponding numerical simulations are performed to verify and illustrate the analytical results.
