This paper proposes the carrier-based PWM (CPWM) method for IMC with a fixed slope carrier signal instead of a variable slope. In order to verify the generality of the proposed CPWM, the correlation between the CPWM and the space vector PWM (SVPWM) is analyzed and the relationship between the distribution of zero vectors in SVPWM method and the type of the offset voltage component in CPWM method is provided. Furthermore, the output voltage waveform and the switching loss for different CPWM strategies are investigated according to the offset voltage component in the proposed CPWM. Finally, the practical implementation for the proposed CPWM is carried out to demonstrate its effectiveness.
