To monitor the environmental information from ship cabins intelligently, discovery the abnormal changes in time, pinpoint the area in potential dangers, and raise warning is the important premise to reduce and avoid the accident occurrence, and there is significant meaning for marine safety. This paper presents a wireless sensor network(WSN) based ship cabin environment monitoring system, discusses the system's architecture, analyses the key technologies like as efficient routing algorithms and three-dimensional localization, and prove the feasibility of system by experiment on ship. As a brand-new communication mean, wireless sensor network has many advantages, has been widely applied in many fields, nevertheless, the applications of WSN in monitoring of ship cabin condition, it's a new idea.
